Border 'fence' cost questioned
Washington -- Electronic monitoring and other steps for enhancing surveillance along the southwestern border could cost 15 times the initial $2 billion estimate, the Homeland Security Department's inspector general says.
Comment: A 1,000-mile four-lane highway along the border would cost about $5 billion. A fence would be a lot cheaper.
