Mexican Civil War?
Cartels Could Go Political

American Patrol Report

"Drug cartels are sending a brutal message to police and soldiers in cities across Mexico: Join us or die." So reported Fox News yesterday.
One observer says that the Mexican drug war could lead to a civil war.
Mexico is undergoing a major debate over the control of its oil resources, with President Calderon proposing privatization within the Bush plan for regional integration. Former presidential candidate Lopez Obrador is said to be calling for massive mobilization against the Calderon plan.
In the south, conditions in Chiapas have worsened to the point where one author says "war is again on Mexico’s horizon."
We may be witnessing a convolution of factors, including the immigration issue, that could well erupt into a large-scale civil conflict that would not respect borders.
