Driver's licenses for foreign scofflaws in Georgia?
The forum was a total farce. For starters they scheduled it for 10:00 on a work day when most working Americans couldn't attend. It was attended largely by paid lobbyists, immigration attorneys (MALDEF), and special interest groups. There were only about seven non-Latino people in attendance. As I was leaving I noticed that a church van was loading up a group of Latino men that they had brought to the event. And the one guy who got up to speak Spanish had no intention of speaking English even if he knew any...which I don't believe he did. I believe that he purposely wanted to speak so the non-Spanish speaking could not understand. This was a joke and I plan to send a letter to the Governor today..
Pedro (Pete) Marin who is running unopposed for Georgia House of Representative - District 66, was there. He was with all of the attorneys and lobbyists. I believe we know where he stands on this issue. This is of course the man who lists on his website that he's a member of LaRaza.
