LETTERS TO GERALD SILVER FROM CONCERNED AMERICANS

OF MANY WE ARE SURE HE RECEIVED!

Dear Mr. Silver:

I heard that you were going to back Antonio Villaraigosa for mayor of Los
Angeles because he said he would cut the noise at Van Nuys airport.

Perhaps you are not aware of Antonio Villaraigosa's past affiliation with
MEChA and the Raza movement. All Raza organizations including MEChA are
united in the cause to "liberate" "Aztlan" (the U.S. Southwest) from
"Europeans." There are two factions of the Raza movement that are viciously
antisemitic, Nation of Aztlan and La Vos de Aztlan. To view their latest
antisemitic hate, go to <http://www.aztlan.net/razajews.htm>.

It is understandable that he could have indiscretely been associated with
anti-American and antisemitic organizations in his youthful college days,
but Mr. Villaraigosa's refusal to publicly repudiate (to major news media)
those organizations, is to me a clear indication that he still connives
with those groups. Even David Duke repudiates the KKK.

Ordinarily, I have not been an activist in many causes in the past, but,
for good reason, I have become so passionate in my opposition to Antonio
Villaraigosa, that I launched a website to oppose him for mayor
<http://mayorno.homestead.com/>.

As a fellow Jew, I am appealing to you to consider this important issue
over the frivolity of airport noise.

Please reply.

Sincerely,

Hal Netkin

Dear Mr. Silver,

I hope you will reconsider your views about Van Nuys Airport &
Villaraigosa. We moved to Santa Paula (in Ventura County), from the
Valley, twenty five years ago. When we arrived in this beautiful city
we had all sorts of interesting and great stores on Main Street. Slowly
our population ratio has changed until we now have approximately 7,500
Anglos and approximately 20,500 Hispanics here. Our main street now has
changed to predominantly Hispanic-owned stores, with Hispanic names and
advertising. We now have no clothing stores where we can shop (except K
Mart?), one supermarket. We try to shop in Santa Paula as much as
possible but it is difficult. Someone came to Santa Paula who grew up
here. They had not been here for over 20 years and wondered what had
become of Santa Paula's Main Street. They said it "looked like
little-Tijuana".

Believe me I would rather tolerate a little airport noise than have the
problems we have here since the "illegal population" has mushroomed. We
now have people living illegally in garages, sometimes 4 or 5 families
to a garage, with no sanitation facilities.

It gets very discouraging, when one of our City council persons, who is
Hispanic, along with a group of her friends, are trying to fight their
way into building more low, low income housing in Santa Paula. She just
"happens" to have several friends that are officers in a company that
builds low income housing!

I could go on and on. My husband & I have become involved as
political-activists in Santa Paula, in an attempt to bring our city back
to what it was when we moved here. I feel that we are fighting a losing
battle. We try to follow the rules in our attempt to do things while
the other group are very dishonest about the things they do.

Santa Paula is still a great place to live. Our weather is the
greatest, bar none! We love it here, but have a lot to do to improve it
.

I would advise you to seriously question your allegiance to
Villaraigosa and remember your responsibility as President of the
Homeowners Association in Encino. Those homeowners will expect you to
tell them the truth. Can you believe Villaraigosa when he says he will
cut the airport noise? I doubt it! You will have the same problems
that Santa Paula has, except on a larger scale.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Silver,

I no longer live in Los Angeles, but I was born and raised in the Atwater
District and hold a great love of my city in my heart and memory. I suppose
who becomes Mayor of Los Angeles should be of little matter to me, but I
still somehow love her, with all her nicks and bruises.

I understand you have decided to back the candidacy of Antonio Villaraigosa
in the next mayoral race. I can't imagine why, but people do things for all
sorts of unfathomable reasons that are beyond my ability to sort out.

I'm curious, what it is about his appeal that draws you to him. He's an
outspoken supporter of Reconquista and just can't wait to make Alta
California another Mexican state. I have no difficulty understanding why
millions of illegal residents might be longing for Villaraigosa's victory,
but I'm having a terrible time with why someone like you would be backing
the overthrow of the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo and the sovereignty of the
United States. If it is your heartfelt desire to live in Mexico, why don't
you take up residence there and leave the United States to those of us who
still hold allegiance to it?

During the second World War, the Eight Air Force, alone, give up more
casualties than our total losses in Vietnam, my brother and next-door
neighbor in the lot, flying and fighting against a regime that took over
Germany and its population, largely on the basis of racial background, much
as Mr. Villaraigosa is attempting to do now. To be a person of European
background, if Villaraigosa is successful in carrying out his avowed goals,
will not be unlike being a Jew in Europe during the time of that former
racial bigot's regime, known as the Third Reich. I don't know if you know
any Jews who survived those times, but, if you do, I wish you would let them
speak to you about the conditions that pertain when racial madmen are in
charge.

What possibly could exist on Senior Villaraigosa's agenda that is
attrictive enough to win over your support? I sure wish you'd tell me,
because I find it utterly amazing. Perhaps you know something I don't.
That wouldn't be the first time. Enlighten me, if you will.

Dear Mr. Silver:

Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting you in person, I am very
familiar, via newspaper articles, etc., with the great work that you have
done in representing the Encino Homeowners Association.

I am also willing to admit that I am not as familiar with all of the
minutae regarding the current mayoral race in Los Angeles seeing as I am a
resident of Burbank.

I am concerned however with your support of Anthony Villaraigosa for that
position. This is a man whose liberal agenda soiled the halls of Sacramento
and who has now come "home" ala Willie Brown, due to term limits, to claim
his rightful place as the mayor of Los Angeles.

Perhaps you are so certain of the Valley's ability to secede from LA that
it doesn't really matter who is elected to that post, but I am very
concerned with our region's ability to withstand not only the illegal
immigration which currently occurs but that which will most certainly flood
our county once someone who is lockstep in agreement with Mexican President
Vicente Fox becomes mayor of the third largest city in the United States.

In looking to the future with regards to the Van Nuys Airport and it's
noise situation, I beg you to look even further down the road and try to
envision what this county, the city of Los Angeles and the possible Valley
city should secession succeed will look like once we are smothered
Villaraigosa's agenda to welcome illegal immigrants in order to shore up
his political future.

Please rethink your support of this man. I believe he is dangerous for us,
our community and our posterity.

Sincerely,

D.O.

You have a right to support anyone you wish..BUT, the candidate is a person of doubt to me.
Being of the Jewish faith, the Mexican movement to "take back their stolen land" is a grave
issue. They are doing it thru illegal immigration.
His buddy, Xavier Bacerra said, " We will take you over, house by house, block by block,
you better stop and smell the refried beans". Well, I see every day what this block of people do.
Graffitti fills the streets and walls; the upkeep to erase this is big $$. There is 8 to 10 thousand
illegal aliens in the Calif penal system...why is this?
The president of Mexico when on a visit to Calif stated, " If the American people did not demand narcotics, there would be no problems in Mexico". That was an INSULT to me.
It takes 4 BILLION dollars to feed, keep them on the welfare roles, the health industry is overun
with walking baby factories. I see it on a daily basis in Burbank.
Our Gov Davis wants an "open border". Jay Leno on a monologue said, "Hell we have an open
border, duh". I am tired of paying thier freight...I am tired of them waving the Mexican flag and
not loving the United States. As an Army Vet, I resent this...Any comments?

When Pete Wilson acted`to enforce proposition 209, Villaraigoso spoke out
against him, saying the people were tired of the issue. We, the people, voted
for prop. 209, as our representative, he was constitutionally bound to uphold
the law and the will of the voters. Instead he fought to oppose the will of
the voters. Article 3 section 3.5 of the California constitution compels our
state government to enforce the mandates of the voters, whether or not they
agree with the law. Wilson was constitutionally bound to enforce the law. Yet
Villaraigoso vociferously opposed his actions.
Article 4 section 4 of the US constitution guarantees a republican form of
government, which means that mandates of the people, when upheld as
constitutional, as prop. 209 was, reign supreme. Villaraigoso flippantly
opposed this mandate as if it meant nothing. A far cry from "...a government
which derives its just powers from the consent of the governed" that the
declaration of independence cites as the founding principle of our country.
