Glenn,

I sent the email below to Jacoby last night after watching her on O'Reilly. I was as polite as possible in the hope she would respond. If she does, I'll forward you her response.

Please forward to Ms. Jacoby

I watched you on television this evening discussing immigration. Among your comments was the oft used, but rarely substantiated charge that immigrants do jobs Americans won't. My experience..on the front lines in California..is that they have driven down wages to the point that wages are pitiful....supply and demand. In LA, jobs formerly held by Blacks have become almost entirely jobs held immigrants and a decrease in wages.

My question is: who did these jobs prior to mass immigration in the 80's and 90'???? Who does them now in regions where the immigrants have not yet flooded and what is he wage differential with and without immigrant influence?????

Lastly, do you believe the explosive population growth is a something to be considered in the immigration debate???? My understanding is that over 50% of the net US population growth is attributable to immigrants and their American born since 1970. Are you aware of ANY public opinion poll that indicates rank and file citizens favor the current high immigration levels??? Is there a point where you would say enough is enough in terms of how many more millions you would like to see immigrate here?

I am somewhat familiar with the current immigration debate, so I would appreciate straight, factual answers should you elect to respond. For the record, I helped two Mexican friend become citizens in the late 1980's.

Respectfully,

Tom W.
