11/13/02 - 11/14/02 -- Re: The Donahue Show with Glenn Spencer and Roger Barnett (11/12/02)
Hi, Glenn: You were terrific on The Donahue Show. I didn't get to see it all, just the last half. I hope he gave you more time to express yourself in the first half, though. I wish there would be a re-run because I wasn't home in order to see the entire program. Nevertheless, God bless you. You always hold your own in these debates, and I'm proud of you for now getting on the national shows to get the message out. I'll give Donahue some credit, though it's rare I can tolerate his programs. Sincerely, Malia
Glenn, Congrats on Donahue!!! -- You kept Donahue honest, to his credit he gave everyone a fair chance to speak. You, and Roger, and Iris Eagles mother and father, everyone on our side was excellent. Even Sharp ton had to speak for law and order on the borders. This must have been an enlightening show for many Americans. Congratulations on a fine debate, and a clear victory for our side. --Greg C.
This e-mail was addressed to Donahue with a cc to us:I am writing to share my thoughts with you on Tuesday's show about closing our borders.
The disdain in your voice when you spoke to Mr. Spencer or Mr. Barnett was incredible. But, your tone totally turned to sympathy when addressing the liberal do-gooders. It was a true, Emmy-deserving Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performance. Your attitude about the immigration problem showed a total lack of respect to the loss suffered by Mr. and Mrs. Eggle. I kept hoping that the Eggle's would just get up and leave. You showed more sympathy to the lady whose husband was deported.
Why didn't you ask that young woman with the three kids why her husband was deported? Could it be that he came here on a Visa and then stayed here after his Visa expired? That's called breaking the law Mr. Donahue. Perhaps if our government had been more diligent in catching Visa violators we wouldn't have had 9-11.
You didn't mention if you received any e-mails on this subject prior to the show. I would bet that if you did they were 3 to 1 in favor of closing our borders. But you didn't even utter a word about this. (I know personally of six people who sent e-mails). I guess you were too afraid to show how most Americans truly feel about this issue.
I bet that this show is one of the highest rated you've had since your show has been on. Believe me.....I will NEVER make the mistake of watching it again even if the topic is immigration. I just couldn't stomach you a second time.
Mr. Donahue, I now officially consider you the poster boy for liberal bed-wetters. You should have stayed retired. You are so out of touch with the American people. Go back to the land of Oz with That Girl.
THANK HEAVEN FOR BILL O'REILLY AND SEAN HANNITY!
Glenn, Excellent job on Donahue; good control of time and the floor. I know how tough it is to manage time and the floor in that type of format. A high impact show, and you really handled yourself well. I know you reached a lot of people, and I know you put plenty of time into prep and helping the producer getting the other great guests lined up -- and a great opportunity for first rate folks to tell their important personal stories. Thanks. Best wishes, Dan Stein.
I thought you and the rancher were terrific on Donahue. Why in the hell was Sharpton on the program? I have the feeling that the immigration issue is beginning to gather momentum thanks to your unrelenting effort. Thank you so much!
It's good to see you and others talking about this much interested subject on national television. Many Americans are upset at this matter. We are tired. I can't find a job in my own small town because I don't speak Spanish, although I am qualified, especially coming from a bigger city where my talents have made the paper(Yet I do not tell them this). The newspapers here are entirely covered with only Mexican news and the classified adds all have "bilingual a plus". But when you call they tell you Spanish is a must, not a plus. Once you say you don't speak Spanish their voices change suddenly and you are treated like a mutant(Very strange feeling). -- Anyhoo, keep up the good work. -- Sincerely, An American
Just wanted to say you did well in spite of Phil and those others, whose hearts bleed for all, except for the American citizens. Their attempt to shut off the truth was not successful; although they did all they could to limit your time and out shout your points. And then to have Phil claim to champion the cause of the border problem, made me sick. I give you a lot of credit for going into that "looney" arena to fight the battle of safe borders. Thank you, thank you, thank you. May you continue to have the strength to keep on fighting against what's destroying this once great country. Your fellow citizen, VB
Sorry, but Donahue should have stayed in retirement. He reminds me of unflavored jello...NBC dumped him years ago. Lets start out with the "religious do-gooders". An open invite to invade us; welfare, a new little [Mexican] every year and a blight on the public welfare systems in Calif. The have bankrupted the L.A. County welfare systems to the tune of $1 million per day.Now to the "Rev" Al Sharpton...another big time loser. He knows all...should have kept his fat ass in jail for more than 90 days over the Vieques Island thingee...he had no business there. Does he work or is he another rabble rouser? Where does he get his funding...another sponge or preying mantis...
The duty of the United States Government is to protect our borders and the INS is woefully short on this. The pres of Mexico and the United States are good buddy's...but the problem persists...illegal means NOT legal. We are now a 3rd world country...they want to drag us down to their gutter mentality.
Glad you had the chance to speak up. Stu...
Hi. I'm a 3rd generation Local here in Orange County and the illegals have just Trashed this place. I saw the show tonight on Donahue and it was great. I just can't believe people are still so naive to keep allowing this people to flood into our country. This is not immigration. This is an Invasion. Keep up the good work. Richard M.
Great job tonight on Donahue! Thank you.Stan -- Lewisville, Texas
Glenn, You and the others did a great job on Donahue last night. It was nice to have this issue debated for an hour on TV. That is why I felt it was wise of you to thank Donahue at the end of the show. We need more forums like this that garner large national audiences. I will be spending 5 or 6 days in Phoenix during Thanksgiving. Let me know if there is anything that needs to be done in Maricopa County. Take Care. Rob Luton -- Border Solution -- Task Force
The United States must implement an immigration moratorium immediately while we decide what to do with the ones that are already here illegally. Your guests completely overlooked enforcement of employer sanctions (I-9 Forms) that would mandate the employment of only American citizens so these folks would be forced to return to Mexico and use their clever resourcefulness to help build their own country. This is a major security problem for America and we need more shows like yours pointing it out. It was so amazing to watch the couple who help the illegal immigrants with water turn a blind eye to any and everything that would stop them from coming. It seems to me they have some motive other than being kind. Most likely a church affiliation that benefits financially from immigrants in border towns. I have a family member in Texas that routinely recruits immigrants for their church. Our government owes the mothers of fallen soldiers who died in past wars protecting our country more than they are getting. Thank you. JI
Great job on the Donahue show. You took the offensive and the only thing left for the Sharpton Jacobins was defensive. Bob
Glenn: Your finger was wagging around so much, I figured a high wind was heading out in all directions. You interrupted the foes over and over again, making it impossible for the idiots to make a point! GOOD JOB!And my favorite was the loud, hysterical laughter in the background (I figured that was you) when Sharpton or that damn illegal alien in a cowboy hat was trying to say he didn't hire illegals, that totally negated what they were saying. And I am surprised Frank doesn't wear a dress to these events.
A+ far better than anything else I could have done tonite. I feel so sorry for those parents, and wish that the mother (who has a lot to say, and held back and SHOULD NOT!!!!!), her last point was right on. May the other side rot in hell. Terry
