Lochiel -- ABP- 1/2/03 -- With operations
scheduled to begin this morning near , American Border Patrol (ABP) is launching an ambitious
project to send live images from remote areas of the U.S./Mexico
border over the Internet. According to ABP president, Glenn Spencer,
the purpose of the BorderCam is to show the American people what
is really going on on its borders. "This is part of a comprehensive
program to develop an independent assessment of the situation
on our borders," Spencer said. "We are working to help
America understand the true scope of this most serious national
