Is Mexico-firster Cannon stiffing Mormons?

by H. Millard (c) 2006 -- June 24, 2006

Useless bag of wind and Mexico Firster Rep. Chris Cannon got an award a few years ago from MALDEF (the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) for helping the children of illegal aliens get tuition breaks at public colleges in Utah.

These are the absurd gimmes that let illegal aliens get reduced rates in U.S. colleges while American citizens are denied these breaks if they don't live in the state in which the college is located.

So, for example, suppose you are LDS (Mormon to the uninitiated) and you don't live in Utah but you want to go to college in Utah--a state that is almost sacred to Mormons everywhere because it is so steeped in Mormon history. Tough cookies, Brother or Sister, you're a stranger in your own land thanks to the likes of Chris Cannon.

Cannon and other amnesty nuts have it fixed so you'll have to pay full tuition while illegal aliens--who, remember, aren't even citizens of this nation, and who most likely aren't LDS--get greatly reduced tuition if they happen to have broken our laws, snuck into Utah, and lived there for a few years. So, keep paying your tithes, Brothers and Sisters, and keep struggling to send your kids on two year missions at your expense, but you're not welcome in Utah. Thanks to Cannon, and those like him, U.S. citizens are treated like second class citizens in Utah, while non-citizens are treated like first class citizens. Bizarre.

Here's what amnestynut and Mexico Firster Cannon gushed to the audience of Mexicans when he got his award for helping give reduced tuition rates to illegal aliens: "We love immigrants in Utah and we don't oftentimes make the distinction between legal and illegal. In fact, I think Utah was the first state in the country to legislate the ability to get a driver's license based on the matricula consular and of that I am proud."

This is the guy who wants yet another term in the U.S. Congress and who is on the Republican primary ballot in Utah on Tuesday, June 27. Cannon should be running for office in Mexico, not in the U.S.

Cannon's opponent is John Jacob who is against amnesty and who wants the rule of law and strong borders. That's about all I know about this guy and that's all I need to know. He's on the right side and Cannon is on the wrong side. It's as cut and dried as that, Pilgrim.

Do you really need to know any more about Cannon than what he said with his own words, to know that this guy should be voted out of office and maybe, if this were a more perfect world, be picked up by ICE and dropped over the border?

Both Cannon and Jacob are LDS, as you might expect. But in all religions and churches there are good people and bad people. There are those who follow the dictates of their religion and there are those who don't.

Mormons are generally very moral people. They are taught from an early age to be, among other things, honest and open and to never lie. Their word is usually their bond. In fact, because of these teachings, Mormons are often the easy victims of scams perpetrated by those (including bad Mormons, bad politicians and bad Mormon politicians) who take advantage of their trust in others.

Cannon is probably hoping that no one will notice that out of state Mormons have to pay more to go to college in "their" state in their country, while illegal aliens get the much lower rate. He's also apparently hoping that the aforementioned Mormon open trust in others will blind voters to the reality that he's not against amnesty even though he says he is. Most Mormon voters know that lying is a sin,and doing it with a euphemism is the same sin. Yeah, Cannon is against amnesty...the way George Bush is against amnesty. Laugh out loud. They're both for "earned citizenship." Laugh out loud again, and count your fingers if you shook hands with Cannon.

Who does Cannon think he's fooling? So called "earned citizenship," is amnesty. It's the equivalent of giving someone "earned ownership" in your house after he has broken in and stayed there awhile. The concept is absurd and it's insulting to anyone with a three digit IQ, even if one is full of trust.

I'd sooner buy a used car from Richard Nixon than Chris Cannon. Hopefully, the voters of Utah will also see it that way on Tuesday and send Cannon packing.

God willing, Chris Cannon will lose the Republican Primary in Utah on Tuesday, June 27.
