Subject: Mexican ID Cards Drawing Criticism

11/26/01

I plan to attend at least the Tuesday Anaheim City Council Meeting. This is a vital issue to win, especially when considering that Anaheim and Santa Ana are top illegal alien gathering points and neighborhoods. If this skirmish is lost, it could well spell the end to any hope that noncitizens who are here illegally can ever be deported for breaking the law to be here. Every liberal city council in America is watching this issue with keen eyes. Their unwillingness to cooperate with Federal policing agencies is legend. How city councils and chiefs of city police departments can be striking deals with foreign nations is clearly extraconstitutional. The problem is, where are you going to find a court in California that will uphold the Constitution? Here, again, is another instance where the Federal Government of Mexico is exercising its influence and will over American politics. I'm just not understanding why this isn't an affront to American politicians.
