WOULD YOU VOTE FOR THIS GUY
FOR MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES?

October 21, 1999

Villaraigosa, shown here in a Mexican parade in September, 1996, is now Speaker of the California Assembly. More recently he has announced that he intends to run for Mayor of Los Angeles, the largest Mexican city outside Mexico.

The banner "Marcha de Libertad" refers to the OCTOBER 12, 1996, Chicano March on Washington which called for amnesty of millions of Mexican illegal aliens in the United States. Villaraigosa was one of the few elected Latinos leaders who supported this radical movement.

While at UCLA, Villaraigosa was president of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA).This is what the MEChA Constitution says (Article II, section 1):

"general membership shall consist of any student who accepts, believes and works for the goals and objectives of MEChA, including the liberation of AZTLAN, meaning self-determination of our people in this occupied state and the physical liberation of our land."

There is no other way to read this than Chicanos, including Villaraigosa, are intent on OVERTHROWING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

These are some of the organizations Villaraigosa has been part of:

Greater Eastside Voter Registration and Education Project

Jobs With Peace

LAUSD Mexican American Education Commission

L.A. Center for Law and Justice

He is a Board Member and immediate past President of the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California. The ACLU fought both Propositions 187 and 209.
