Future
may be a bit bleak for Busta-MEChA
A referendum on the state's top Democrat
may also have dealt a severe blow to the party's second ranking
leader. Some political experts here say that Lt.
Gov. Cruz Bustamante, the lone big-name Democrat on the recall
ballot, emerged greatly diminished, and left the future leadership
of the party in doubt. -- "He has no future in statewide
races," said Bruce Cain... |

Election: Austrians elated, Mexicans bellyache
..."California, in the hands of
the Terminator," Mexico's left-leaning La Jornada declared
on its front page. A cartoon inside depicted what it called "the
anti-immigrant immigrant," flexing his muscles with
the shadow of a swastika behind him. -- "We know
his history, and it makes us think there could be a surge of
anti-immigrant, xenophobic or racist feelings," said Ricardo
Monreal, governor of the Mexican state of Zacatecas... |

Nearly one in five Americans speaks a
language other than English at home, the Census Bureau says,
after a surge of nearly 50 percent during the past decade. Most
speak Spanish, followed by Chinese, with Russian rising fast.
-- Some 47 million Americans age 5 and older used a language
other than English in the home in 2000, the bureau said.

'Freedom
Ride' shames the Civil Rights Movement
As a patriotic black American, I regard
the so-called "Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride" as a
slap in the face and an insult to the real Freedom Riders of
the 1960s. The people on this bus caravan are not immigrants
they are illegal aliens. Yet they have the nerve to gather
in the hundreds and demand "rights" that belong to
American citizens alone. |

Arnold
wants to repeal invader license bill, confrontation likely
Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger said
Wednesday he would quickly press to repeal the new law allowing
illegal immigrants to obtain California driver's licenses, a
position likely to set up a major confrontation with the Democratic
Legislature. -- Schwarzenegger said the driver's license bill,
which critics say will reward undocumented workers by providing
them with official state identification, was a "bogus issue."

Demise
of our nation
...The 1,000 "immigrants" riding chartered
buses across America to demand yet another amnesty aren't legal
immigrants at all. And they didn't lose their visas, so they
can't be undocumented workers. They are illegal aliens whose
first act in coming here was to violate the laws of our land.
And they continue to flaunt their disdain for our laws... |

Elgin officials to accept as legal identification "matricula

Lt. Gov. Cruz

Guzzardi Returns From The Campaign Trail!
For eighty days and eighty nights, I
was a man on a mission. -- As a candidate in California's gubernatorial
recall election, the goal of my one-person campaign was crystal
clear: to run on a platform to end illegal immigration (www.Guzzardi4Governor.com),
I hoped to force the other candidates into an open and honest
discussion of the impact of illegal immigration on California. |

Immigration
makes a political comeback in California
...Conventional wisdom among the elite
has been that the GOP collapsed in the state because Gov. Pete
Wilson made a Faustian bargain in his 1994 reelection campaign
by latching on to Proposition 187, which barred illegal aliens
from access to many public services. He won, but as the story
goes, the party has been getting clobbered there ever since because
Hispanic voters turned on them. |
