McCain's Loves Teddy Roosevelt But Not His Ideas on Immigration
|O'Reilly Factor -- May 8
O'Reilly: OK, McCain, what jumped out at you.
Ingraham: Well, Bill, it's not surprising that the most troubling aspect of the interview was his answer on sanctuary cities. It was; Yes, of course I'm not for sanctuary cities - but. And, after the but, came comprehensive immigration reform which, as we have talked about many times, is a rallying cry for conservatives across the United States. And I think on that issue, conservatives and John McCain have just parted ways and I don't think he feels comfortable about that.
And on the issue of green energy, and I know you were talking with Nancy about that, I think that John McCain ought to remember that Teddy Roosevelt, whom he cites as his favorite president. Teddy Roosevelt on immigration, Bill, was tough. I mean he basically said we have to end this idea of a hyphenated America. America has to be more than just a polyglot boarding house - and was tough on immersion for English and across the board on immigration. So I found it interesting that he cited Roosevelt on the conservation issue
