Dear Friends and Family (a gentle request for help):
(many of you are already helping and I thank you)
I have had several calls this week (some from as
far away as Yuma, AZ.) indicating that the individual that has chosen to run
against me (an immigration attorney) has been approaching the open border and
cheap labor folks all over the state for contributions to defeat me. I have
been told that the cheap labor crowd, along with the open border crowd and other
organizations such as the ACLU, MALDEF that sued over over Proposition 200 and
HB2779 to stop hiring illegal aliens are going to generously fund a candidate to
run against me and in fact will spend whatever it takes to remove me from
office.
As stated earlier, I probably
cannot out fundraise such a candidate, and so Clean Elections is my best bet to
compete; besides asking my family and wonderful friends for money has always
been a difficult thing for me to do. Matt Salmon was out spent and was placed at
a great disadvantage due to is opponents who ran with Clean Elections dollars,
and I believe would have won hands down had he been able to compete financially.
Having
said that; I need about 250 $5 contributions to qualify; they must live in
Legislative District 18 to contribute. Any help to raise the needed $5
contributions will be greatly appreciated. I hope I can raise the $5 dollar
contributions quickly and get them turned in, with the help of family, friends,
neighbors, etc.
Today, Arizona, like America, has become a huge, bloated welfare state -
teetering at present on the brink of bankruptcy. We have over spent, we have
over regulated and we have trampled on the doctrine of personal responsibility
and the Principles of Freedom.
We have FAILED to put the citizens of
this state and the taxpayers FIRST.
